Hebrews 10:19-25 teaches us what Jesus followers ought to do in light of what they have been given: (1) we have confidence and a great high priest; and, (2) what we have been given determines how we are to live in faith, hope, and love. Chapters 11-13 will unpack the ideas of faith, hope, and love.
Hebrews 10:1-18 teaches us: (1) the Old Relationship existed to show our need, and functioned as a REMINDER; (2) the New Relationship provides the REALITY about which the Old could only remind.
Hebrews 9:15-28 teaches us how Jesus ended the old relationship of the ministry of death by means of his own death. Jesus’ death accomplished two things: (1) it activated Jesus’ last will and testament, making his brothers and sisters legal heirs (15-18); and, (2) Jesus’ heirs receive a new status through Jesus’ shed blood.
