Luke 2:8-14 teaches us how Jesus came not to be served but to serve: (1) a lowly audience; (2) a lowly entrance; and, (3) a lowly mission.

The Aimlessness of Unbelief

Hebrews 4:1-13 teaches us that trusting in Jesus’ works is eternally better than trusting in ourselves: (1) distrust of God brings dissatisfaction, dislocation, and death; (2) trust bring rest in God’s eternal perfection and provision.

Hebrews 3:7-16 teaches us about man’s innate response to God’s good offer and the ultimate benefit of that offer:(1) sin is restless deceit; and, (2) trust into Christ is rest.

Hebrews 3:1-6 uses the themes of house and household to teach us Jesus’ superiority to Moses and the Mosaic Law: (1) Moses was a faithful caretaker of the house; (2) Jesus is the architect and Lord of the Manor; and, (3) those trusting into Jesus are the true house of God.
