Acts 9:1-19 shows us the work of the Lord Jesus through the Spirit in the calling of Saul of Tarsus.  Saul, who once breathed out threats and murder, now breathes in the Holy Spirit.  This new breath produces three things: (1) a new high priest for Paul; (2) a new Stephen for the church: and, (3) a new persecution as Saul is transformed from the persecutor into Paul the persecuted.
